What is Family Therapy?
Family Therapy, also known as Systemic Psychotherapy, is a form of psychotherapy that looks to help members of a family understand and support each other better.
It enables individuals, couples and families solve their problems in context to relationships, usually within their family units or wider networks.
Invariably, families and those in close relationships can come under strain due to many reasons. Difficulties can arise in all shapes and sizes, and like a game of dominoes can affect the flow of relationships and family life.
Family Therapy focuses on exploring group dynamics and unhelpful patterns of communication to understand how individual actions may impact each other and the whole family, then builds on existing strengths to develop, nurture and promote change.
