Services

Child and adolescent focused:
I accept referrals from private individuals and from professionals, including solicitors and others working in family courts. I accept commissions from local authorities and other organisations, such as health and education.

Couples therapy:
Therapy in which both partners in a committed relationship are treated at the same time. Couples therapy is concerned with problems within and between the individuals that affect the relationship. For example, one partner may have undiagnosed depression that is affecting the relationship, or both partners may have trouble communicating effectively with one another. Individual sessions may be provided separately to each partner, particularly at the beginning of therapy; most of the course of therapy, however, is provided to both partners together.

EMDR:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)  was developed when it was noticed that eyes involuntarily move rapidly when a disturbing thought is experienced and therefore anxiety is reduced if eye movement is brought under control. It is often used as an effective treatment for anxiety, trauma and PTSD and usually delivered in a series of 60 minute sessions.

Energy psychotherapy:
I have an interest in trauma work and I have a certificate in energy psychotherapy – an integrative practice. I believe mind and body work heals and helps clear away emotional blocks.

Individual therapy:
Treatment of psychological problems that is conducted on a one-to-one basis. One therapist sees one client at a time, tailoring the process to his or her unique needs in the exploration of contributory factors and alleviation of symptoms. Also called dyadic therapy; individual psychotherapy.

Systemic consultations:
I offer systemic consultations to trainees, social workers, therapists in independent practice, including supervision and QAing of expert witness work.

Systemic family therapy:
Systemic Family Therapy aims to look at a family unit as a whole and to address dysfunctional relationships and communication styles within its members in order to help the individuals, as well as the collective.

Working across cultures:
Systemic therapeutic work makes space for stories from black, Asian, minority, ethnic (BAME) and other diverse social groups, voices that so often go unheard and uncelebrated.
